2008 UFOs

I have one big quilt on my UFO list. This is the smallest it has been in years. I made a vow a couple of years ago to do my best to finish my current projects before I started any new ones. I am currently working on a project that was started I believe in 2002. It is a 30s block of the month sampler from the Quilt N' Stitch. I completed the quilt top several years ago but just never got around to putting on the border.

Charity Quilts

I belong to the Piney Hills Quit Guild and our guild makes kid's quilts for various organizations such as for DART which is our domestic abuse shelter, Shriner's Hospital, and the Crisis Pregnancy Center. We do Christmas stockings for the Methodist Childrens Home which houses troubled teens and preteens We have also done a Quilts of Valor for the wounded soilders and our most recent project is pillowcases for DART.

Here is a couple of the charity kids quilts that I have done recently. These quilts were fun to construct.

My Jane Stickle Quilt Finally Finished

I don't remember when I started this quilt but it was at least five years ago and probably more than that. I first started making a few blocks and then would put it down for a year and then start back on it again. Well in 2007 I decided that I wanted to be done with it. In 2006 I had finished all the five-inch square blocks and still had the tris to do. Early in 2007 I decided to get the tris finished. I finished quilting this in mid Fall and in December of 2007 I finally found the right binding. It was a challenge doing the scalloped edging but I finally got it done. It's not perfect but it's completed.
